Fundamental FIlter Design. There are three basic styles of filter designs; stainless steel mesh filter with a perforated backing plate for support, a solid stainless steel disk with small holes similar to those on the bottom of a portafilter basket and a new design using the same stainless mesh but with a web patterned backing plate. This latest design is referred to as self-cleaning because coffee solids tend not to adhere or block the water flow through the coffee with routine maintenance.

Pay Attention. We have pictures of the filters because a manufacturer will sometimes use different brewing head designs that use different screen styles. If it looks close, it’s probably fine, but don’t hesitate to call if there is any confusion. We will ensure you get the right screen for the machine.
